Exploitable vulnerabilities originate from a handful of known sources (e.g., memory safety); they remain because of deficits in tools, languages and hardware that could address and prevent vulnerabilities at the design, implementation and execution stages. Often, making a small change in one of these stages can greatly ease the task in another. The CRASH program will encourage such cross layer co-design and participation from researchers in any relevant area.

Following a start-up phase of rapid growth (2011-2014), the OGP Steering Committee has agreed that in its next phase of consolidation (2015-2018), OGP's key objective is to make sure that real change is happening on the ground in a majority of OGP countries and that this change is benefitting citizens. This will require an increased focus on supporting and improving implementation in existing OGP countries. OGP also aspires to maintain the feeling of a dynamic movement, while at the same time building the credible organizational structure needed to ensure effective delivery.

On March 28th, 2014 the Minneapolis City Council adopted the City's vision, values, goals and strategic directions that will guide the City’s work for the next four years. City leaders set new goals every four years, resulting in clear priorities that provide long-term direction and clarify the core function of City government. The adoption of the goals follows a public comment period in February and March when residents were asked to give their feedback on the draft vision, values, goals and strategic directions. Beginning in April, department will use the new four year goals, strategic directions and values to begin crafting their individual business plans.
